On September 4, 2019, Associate Professor Dr. Weeraphon Thongma, Acting President of Maejo University, chaired the press conference on kicking-off Econ Zero Waste activities at the Faculty of Economics of Maejo University to solve the environmental problems sustainably by making an announcement expressing its intention to do the Econ Zero Waste Project aiming at reducing the waste of the faculty to 0. This could be done by starting first from ourselves, the lecturers, the staff, the housewives, the shop keepers and the students. We all should reduce the use of plastic bags, plastic glasses and plastic water bottles to 0 to response to the strategy and policy moving towards to Green & Eco University of Maejo University. The university was committed to being a green university (Green University) for our society and our country. In this regard, Associate Professor Dr. Surachai Kangwon, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, along with executives, personnel and students attended the event on the first floor of Yanyong Sitthichai Building in the Faculty of Economics of Maejo University.
