On Friday, June 5, 2026, Maejo University, through its Green Office Steering Committee, continued its commitment to becoming a sustainable and environmentally friendly educational institution by organizing the “Green Synergy: Adapting Office Practices for a Sustainable World” event under the Green Office Project for the fiscal year 2026. This event coincided with World Environment Day (June 5th) and fostered collaboration both within and outside the organization in environmental protection. Associate Professor Chakrapong Pimpimol, Vice President of Maejo University, presided over the opening ceremony, and Assistant Professor Dr. Saenwasan Yodkham, Assistant to the President, delivered the report. The event was attended by numerous administrators, department heads, committee members, staff, students, and representatives from the private sector, at the Sai Nam Phueng Room, University Library, Maejo University.

The event aimed to promote behavioral changes in the workplace to align with the Green Office concept, fostering awareness of energy conservation and efficient resource utilization. A special lecture was given on the topic of “Green Synergy: Adapting Office Practices for a Sustainable World.” “For a Sustainable World”: An exhibition showcasing outstanding achievements and successes from five pilot departments – the College of Renewable Energy, the Office of Agricultural Research and Academic Extension, the Faculty of Liberal Arts, the University Office, and the University Library – was held to serve as a model and disseminate knowledge to other departments.

In addition, recycled materials and environmental and social technology equipment were donated, including:

  1. 86,020 plastic bottle caps (115.56 kg) to the “Green Road Project” for recycling into tables and chairs for schools affected by floods, in collaboration with nine Green Library networks.
  2. 15 kg of clean plastic to the College of Renewable Energy for processing and refining for use as agricultural engine oil.
  3. Shirts made from recycled plastic bottles, under the University Office’s “Bottle for Shirt” project, transforming plastic bottle waste into eco-friendly clothing.
  4. 20 used but in-good condition computers donated to students, supported by Ching Chang Computer (Thailand) Co., Ltd., to promote the valuable reuse of IT resources.

This also includes many creative environmental activities (Green Activities), such as DIY activities using plastic bottle caps, Bingo Trash Hunter (trash hunting for a chance to win bingo), a Give & Take Corner (a corner for giving that brings satisfaction, and a corner for receiving that brings joy), and a workshop making fabric balls from leftover fabric scraps, to help reduce work-related anxiety.
