On Tuesday, September 22, 2020, Associate Professor Dr. Weeraphon Thongma, President of Maejo University presided over the opening of the MJU Car-Free Day cycling activity at the lawn infront of the University Office Building. The activity was organized by the Committee to Drive the Strategy to be a Green University, the Green Office Committee, the Division of Physical and Environment and Maejo University Bicycle Club (MJU Cycling Club) of Maejo University. The main objectives of the activity were to campaign on using no cars in International Car-Free Day and to request all university organizations to participate in making the university be a green university. These can be done successfully by using less vehicles to reduce traffic problems which reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the atmosphere and reduce PM2.5 dust. The cycling activity started from the lawn in front of the University Office Building and took around the university campus for approximately 4 kilometers and then finished at the starting point. A lot of students and university personnel joined this activity.
