On April 22, 2019, School of Tourism Development of Maejo University led by Dr. Keerati Trakarnsiri, Dean of the School of Tourism Development, with the staff and students of the Tourism Business Program and the management administrators and the staff of Shangri-La Hotel in Chiang Mai led by Mr. Marakot Anurak-bandit, Human Resources Director together with Mr. Thanakorn Chandrapanukorn, Head of the Mae Takhrai National Park Protection Unit 6 (Mae Faek), and local staff organized the Earth Day 2019 Activities which were held on April 22 of each year. The main purpose of the activities was to raise awareness of all sectors on environmental problems. In this regard, forest fire protection lines had been established in the area to control and prevent the spread of forest fires. This was one of the causes of the smog and dust crisis in Chiang Mai Province at the present at Mae Takhrai National Park Protection Unit 6 (Mae Faek), Mae Faek Sub-district, San Sai District in Chiang Mai Province.
