Congratulations to the success of a group of students from the Faculty of Science for a national first prize award on The 2015 Innovation Technology Incubation Contest Program for Social Creation or “Active Citizen: Geek So Good 2015.” The representative students from the Computer Science Program of the Faculty of Science, Maejo University were:

Miss KanokwanDedang, Student ID 5604101302
Their advisor was Lecturer Chalidda Mattayompurus from the Computer Science Program, Faculty of Science, Maejo University.
The work was submitted to the contest under the name “CSMJU78 -The Asking for Bottles” to turn the bottles into money for orphans and the poor. They developed a computer application for society to turn plastic drinking water bottle waste into money by using “The Asking for Bottles Machine” to receive the bottles and accumulate scores for the providers. They can use their scores to trade for goods or to discount the price of goods. Besides, a part of the revenue generated from the sale of bottles will be donated to The Sangthai Darun Foundation or Saeng Thai Darun House to help orphans in need.
The contest and activity period was from August 1, 2015, to July 31, 2016. The work won the first national prize award and was 1 of the 4 final terms. Finally, the team received a supporting scholarship to extend the innovation to society for 50,000 baht to publicize the work through the public and real use.
