On Thursday, June 5, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Wiraphol Thongma, President of Maejo University, presided over the opening ceremony of MJU ECO DAY on World Environment Day 2025. Associate Professor Chakkraphong Phimphimon, Vice President, gave a report. The event aims to raise awareness of environmental conservation, foster mutual support, and foster a holistic and interconnected cycle across all systems, fostering understanding of the impacts of environmental problems. A large number of administrators, staff, students, and scholars participated in the event at the Phae Phuet Building, Maejo University.
MJU ECO DAY featured a variety of activities, including a Green Talk on the environment by distinguished speakers Mr. Jirakorn Suwong, a member of the Chiang Mai Tourism Industry Council, and Mr. Prem Pruekthayanon, owner of the “Uncle Saleng and the Disappearing Trash” Facebook page. A Green Showcase was held by 10 organizations and schools in the “Kids Love the World” project network, showcasing and sharing their eco-friendly ideas. A Green Lifestyle activity included a DIY activity to make bags from recycled vinyl, and a sharing and exchange program. Passing on leftover items, including Green Food, safe and healthy food, which has received a lot of attention. In addition, there is a Big Cleaning Day activity of the agency for everyone to participate in conserving the world and driving the Green Office and Green University of the university.
