Maejo University has supported activities for a green university. It aims mainly to create an environmentally friendly university area and be ready to be assessed for the green university ranking 2020 in the year 2020 (Green university ranking 2020) with various activities that are being done in various fields as follows:

1. To reduce pollution, there is a waste management center to collect and sort hazardous waste.
2. To conserve energy, there is a routine checking and cleaning system of air-conditioners in the buildings on the campus.
3. To manage water, Huayjo Eco-Environment Weir Project was built to solve the water crisis. Soil structure was surveyed and the soil surface was dug up to increase the amount of reserved water.
4. To improve the landscape and increase the green area of the campus, the 100-year Maejo University park has been under construction and the master plan of Maejo University has been improved.
5. To be ready for the changes and support the green university policy, various models of teaching and learning like MOOC have been developed.
