Faculty of Engineering volunteers to fight against COVID-19 by producing more than 3000 face shields for doctors and gave them to hospitals.

On Tuesday, March 31, 2020 Asst. Prof. Dr. Chonwat Nitat-Wichit, Director of Academic Services of the Faculty of Engineering and Agro-Industry at Maejo University acted as the representative of a team of faculty members, supporting staff and volunteer students to deliver 3200 face shields to various hospitals in Chiang Mai Province. Associate Professor Jakkaphong Pimpimol, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Agro-Industry at Maejo University said, “The Faculty of Engineering realizes the importance of medical personnel as a key force in performing their care duties, treatment of patients but now there is a lack of equipment to prevent infection. The Faculty of Engineering has set up a team named “Maejo Engineering with volunteer spirit to fight against COVID19″. The team is consisted of faculty members, supporting staff, alumni and students of the Faculty of Engineering and Agro-Industry at Maejo University. They work together to make face shields to protect healthcare of medical personnel from the corona virus. Initially, some of them have already been distributed to various hospitals. The Faculty of Engineering would like to thank all members of the volunteer team for taking their time to join forces in the production, and thank all sectors for supporting the budget and materials for the production. We sincerely hope that the power of your kind cooperation will surely make us all pass through this crisis.”
