On December 14, 2016, Lecturer Rachata Chuewirote, a Vice President of Maejo University, Assistant Professor Dr. Natthawut Dussad, Director of the School of Renewable Energy, a working committee, and students jointly presented the Outstanding Plaque Award for Energy Conservation and Renewable Energy Promotion for Educational Institutes at Higher Education Type of the year 2016 that was received at Thailand Energy Award 2016 from Air Chief Marshal Prajin Chantong, a Deputy Prime Minister, on December 6, 2016, to Maejo University. In this event, it was honored by Assistant Professor Dr. Chamnian Yosraj, the President, to be the recipient at the Meeting of the Executive Committee of the University in the University Council Meeting Room, the Office of the President.
