วันอังคารที่ 27 มิถุนายน 2566 มหาวิทยาลัยแม่โจ้จัดกิจกรรม #แม่โจ้จิตอาสาพัฒนาชุมชน Big Cleaning Day Maejo Green Heart & Smart University ซึ่งเป็นหนึ่งในกิจกรรมเสริมสร้างอัตลักษณ์ความเป็นลูกแม่โจ้สำหรับนักศึกษาใหม่ ประจำปีการศึกษา 2566 โดยได้รับเกียรติจาก รศ.ดร.วีระพล ทองมา อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยแม่โจ้เป็นประธานในพิธีเปิดกิจกรรม ณ สนามกีฬาอินทนิล มหาวิทยาลัยแม่โจ้
กิจกรรมนี้เป็นการหล่อหลอมนักศึกษา สร้างความรัก ความสามัคคี การมีจิตสาธารณะ การร่วมกันทำงานเป็นหมู่คณะ ได้พัฒนาทักษะคิดให้เป็นระบบ การแสดงทักษะการแสดงออกในทางปฏิบัติและทักษะการเป็นผู้นำ สร้างความอดทนสู้งาน แสดงถึงอัตลักษณ์ความเป็นลูกแม่โจ้ ให้กับน้องใหม่แม่โจ้ รุ่นที่ 88 โดยนักศึกษาได้มีส่วนร่วมพัฒนาพื้นที่ต่างๆ ภายในมหาวิทยาลัย รวมถึงชุมชนโดยรอบมหาวิทยาลัย โดยแบ่งกลุ่มร่วมพัฒนาในพื้นที่เทศบาลแม่โจ้ 10 จุด พื้นที่เทศบาลตำบลสันทรายหลวง รวมถึงพื้นที่โรงเรียนบ้านป่าบง อ.สันทราย จ.เชียงใหม่
