Maejo University Library has passed the Green Office assessment at the Excellent level (Gold G).

Maejo University Library has passed the Green Office assessment at the Excellent level (Gold G) according to the 2020 Green Office Promotion Project of the Department of Quality Promotion and Environment. This award is given to agencies that promote behavioral changes in the office, reduce energy and resource usage, reduce waste generation, reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions into the atmosphere, and continuously conduct environmentally friendly activities. The national Green Office Assessment Committee has already assessed the offices that have applied for certification. In 2020, Maejo University had 4 agencies that applied for assessment: the Library (for renewal), the University Office (for renewal), the Faculty of Science (for the first time), and the Faculty of Information and Communication (for the first time). They were supported by the Bioeconomy Development Office (Public Organization). The committee assessed the criteria in 6 categories: 1) Policy determination and continuous improvement, 2) Communication and awareness building, 3) Resource and energy use, 4) Waste management, 5) Office environment and safety, and 6) Procurement. And the results of the assessment of Maejo University’s 4 units are as follows:

Excellent Award (G Gold) includes the Library, University Office (Excellent Award for 2 consecutive years) and the Faculty of Science (first time being assessed)

Very Good Award (G Silver) includes the Faculty of Information and Communication (first time being assessed)

The Library, which received the Excellent Award (G Gold), will maintain its standards and develop awareness of reducing energy use for our livable world.
